The Edmonton Elks have signed Canadian offensive lineman John Bosse and American offensive lineman Joe Cooper to the practice roster. The team made the announcement on Tuesday.
Bosse played 19 regular-season games with the Toronto Argonauts after being selected in the third round of the 2024 CFL Draft.
The six-foot-four, 335-pound blocker made 11 starts in 2025, including six at right guard and five at right tackle. He was cut by the team at the end of training camp in May.
The 25-year-old was born in Fort Myers, Fla. and raised in Calgary, Alta. He played collegiately at the University of Calgary, helping the Dinos win the Vanier Cup in 2019.
Cooper played collegiately at Slippery Rock University, an NCAA Division II located in Pennsylvania. The six-foot-seven, 320-pound blocker was a three-time All-Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference selection and was a finalist for the Gene Upshaw Award in 2025.
The Edmonton Elks (1-0) will host the Montreal Alouettes (2-0) at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 20 with kickoff scheduled for 4:00 p.m. EDT. The Alouettes are coming off an impressive win over the Toronto Argonauts, while the Elks spent Week 2 on bye.
The weather forecast in Edmonton calls for a high of 18 degrees and a 60 percent chance of showers. The game will be broadcast on TSN and RDS in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on TSN 690 (English) or 99.5 Montreal (French) in Montreal or 880 CHED in Edmonton.
