Toronto Argonauts cut one, activate one

The Toronto Argonauts have released American kicker Reed Martin and moved Canadian offensive lineman Keegan O’Neil from the retired list to the practice roster.

Martin played four collegiate seasons at Edinboro University, where he averaged 41 yards on 207 punts and made seven-of-fourteen field goal attempts. The native of Plum, Pa. was twice named first-team All-Conference, once named second-team All-Conference, and a first-team Division II All-American in 2022.

The five-foot-ten, 190-pound specialist also saw considerable time on defence, recording 107 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, 10 pass knockdowns, two interceptions, and one blocked kick in 42 career games.

O’Neil went unselected in the 2026 CFL Draft, despite winning the bench press at the CFL Combine with 30 reps of 225 pounds. The six-foot-four, 315-pound guard was a key cog in a dominant offensive line at Western University, earning first-team OUA all-star honours in 2025 and a second-team selection in 2023.

The native of Belle River, Ont. was placed on the retired list on May 8, a little over one week after signing with the team.

The Toronto Argonauts (0-1) will visit the Ottawa Redblacks (0-1) at TD Place Stadium on Saturday, June 20 with kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. EDT. The Argonauts are coming off a high-scoring loss to the Montreal Alouettes, while the Redblacks spent Week 2 on bye.

The weather forecast in Ottawa calls for a high of 18 degrees and a 40 percent chance of showers. The game will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and CFL+ internationally. Radio listeners can tune in on TSN 1050 in Toronto or TSN 1200 in Ottawa.
