The Calgary Stampeders have signed American running back Terion Stewart to their training camp roster.
Stewart played for Virginia Tech in 2025, suiting up in 10 games for the Hokies. He carried 82 times for 469 yards and added four catches for 19 yards out of the backfield.
The five-foot-nine, 222-pound back transferred after five seasons at Bowling Green State University, where he sits eighth in all-time rushing yards. In 32 games as a Falcon, he tallied 391 rushes for 2,306 yards and 22 touchdowns, along with five receptions for 49 yards. Stewart was named first-team All-Mid-American Conference in 2024 and second-team in 2023.
In a corresponding move, the Stamps released American running back Kay’Ron Lynch-Adams.
The five-foot-ten, 215-pound ball-carrier had seven carries for 14 yards and two catches for 34 yards in Monday’s pre-season win at home over the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Lynch-Adams played collegiately at Michigan State in 2024, rushing for 649 yards, catching 15 passes for 85 yards, and scoring two touchdowns. He previously played at the University of Massachusetts, where he rushed for 1,568 yards, caught 29 passes for 168 yards, and scored 14 times.
The 25-year-old native of Warren, Ohio, attended training camp with the Carolina Panthers after going unselected in the 2025 NFL Draft, though he was released at the conclusion of the preseason.
The Calgary Stampeders opened training camp on May 10 and played their first preseason game on Monday, May 18, a 20-15 victory over Saskatchewan. Their second preseason game against the Edmonton Elks is scheduled for Friday, May 29. Final roster cuts are due on Saturday, May 30, after which the team will play its first regular-season game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday, June 5.
Calgary recently selected Angelo State linebacker Eric Rascoe with their first-round pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, adding a key piece to pair with veteran Micah Teitz. The team’s other major offseason addition was receiver Dejon Brissett, who set a career-high with 907 receiving yards with the Toronto Argonauts in 2025.
In 2025, the Stampeders finished third in the West Division standings with an 11-7 record but lost the West Semi-Final to the B.C. Lions.
