The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American quarterback JaCobian Morgan and American offensive lineman Nolan Gorczyca.
The 24-year-old played seven games at Jackson State University in 2025, completing 60.1 percent of his pass attempts for 1,187 yards, 11 touchdowns, and two interceptions, and rushing 42 times for 293 yards and three scores. He was added to Hamilton’s negotiation list in March.
The native of Canton, Miss. spent three seasons with the Tigers, completing 63.7 percent of his pass attempts for 4,080 yards, 40 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions over 26 games. He also rushed for 668 yards and 13 scores.
The six-foot-four, 228-pound passer started his collegiate career at Syracuse University where he completed 32-of-50 pass attempts for 288 yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions over three years, making two starts.
Morgan is now the fourth quarterback on Hamilton’s roster alongside Bo Levi Mitchell, Tre Ford, and Jake Dolegala.
Gorczyca played four collegiate seasons at the University of Kansas, where he dressed for 25 games and made three starts in 2025. The six-foot-six, 315-pound native of Omaha, Neb. started his collegiate career at the University at Buffalo in 2021, where he appeared in four games.
The Tiger-Cats hold the fifth overall pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. All CFL training camps are scheduled to open on May 10. Hamilton will play its first preseason game against the Toronto Argonauts on Saturday, May 23 and its first regular-season game against the Montreal Alouettes on Thursday, June 4.
In 2025, Hamilton finished first in the East Division standings with an 11-7 record, though the team lost the East Final to the Montreal Alouettes.
