The Winnipeg Blue Bombers will have versatile defender Brian Cole back in the lineup when they host the Edmonton Elks on Friday night.
The six-foot-two, 207-pound native of Saginaw, Mi. has missed the team’s last seven games due to a foot injury. He dressed for the first seven matchups of the season and made 13 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles, and one interception as a hybrid linebacker and defensive back.
The Mississippi State product was a seventh-round pick of the Minnesota Vikings in the 2020 NFL Draft and has since been a member of the Miami Dolphins, Carolina Panthers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, and Edmonton Elks. Over 27 career CFL games, he has made 16 defensive tackles, 24 special teams tackles, three forced fumbles, and one interception.
Canadian defensive back Nick Hallett will dress despite not practicing this week due to an ankle injury. The same is true for receiver and return specialist Lucky Whitehead, who also missed practice with an ankle injury this week.
Veteran linebacker Kyrie Wilson, who was injured during warmups of last week’s game in Edmonton, has officially been moved to the six-game injured list. Winnipeg has also moved rookie offensive lineman Kendall Randolph, who started in place of Stanley Bryant when he was out of the lineup, to the practice roster while promoting rookie defensive tackle Devin Adams to the active roster.
