The Toronto Argonauts have released Terrell Sinkfield and Ronald Ollie.
Sinkfield played three preseason games for the New York Giants in 2019, recording seven tackles before being part of final roster cuts in late August. The six-foot-one, 200-pound specialist who has played multiple positions including defensive back, wide receiver, and returner has had many stops both north and south of the border.
The Minnesota native broke into the NFL in 2013 where he had stops in Miami, Green Bay and the New York Giants before coming to the CFL and joining the Double Blue in 2014. Sinkfield played five games for the Argos that season, catching seven passes for 90 yards and a touchdown, while returning 11 kickoffs for 240 yards.
Ollie was one of the stars of the hit Netflix reality show ‘Last Chance U’ during its first season. He started his collegiate career at East Mississippi Community College (2014-2015) where he was named All-State second team defence in 2015.
The six-foot-two, 292-pounder was signed by the Las Vegas Raiders in May of 2019 and spent time in training camp with the NFL club. The Mississippi native spent two seasons at Nicholls State (2016, 2018) where he tallied 74 tackles, 20 tackles for loss, seven sacks and two fumble recoveries in 22 games for the Colonels.
The Argos also released Canadian offensive lineman Mojtaba Mehry, Canadian offensive lineman Eric Starczala, Canadian offensive lineman Quinn Smith, and American DL Eli Howard.
