The Saskatchewan Roughriders have signed Canadian offensive lineman Connor Klassen, the team announced on Tuesday.

The native of Big River, Sask. was a fourth-round pick of the B.C. Lions in the 2025 CFL Draft. He was released during last year’s training camp due to an injury, then cut again earlier this month.

The six-foot-four, 310-pound blocker played collegiately at the University of Regina, where he started 19 games for the Rams at right tackle.

Klassen previously played for the Regina Thunder of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL), where he was a two-time Prairie Conference all-star.

The Roughriders have also released American defensive lineman Marcus Haynes.

The six-foot-four, 240-pound defender signed with the team in January. He attended Old Dominion University, where he made 102 total tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, five pass deflections, four forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery over 49 games.

The native of Bowie, Md. went unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft but signed with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent and initially made the team’s practice roster. He later spent time with the Houston Texans, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Indianapolis Colts, and the UFL’s San Antonio Brahmas.

The Saskatchewan Roughriders opened training camp on May 10. Saskatchewan lost 20-15 in its first preseason game against the Calgary Stampeders but won 31-27 in its second preseason game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in Saskatoon. Final roster cuts are due on Saturday, May 30, after which the team will play its first regular-season game against the B.C. Lions on Saturday, June 13.

Saskatchewan recently selected Michigan State defensive back Malcolm Bell with their first-round pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, adding a key piece to pair with Tevaughn Campbell. The team’s other major offseason additions include defensive lineman James Vaughters and returner James Letcher Jr.

In 2025, the Roughriders finished first in the West Division standings with a 12-6 record. The team went on to defeat the Montreal Alouettes in the 112th Grey Cup in Winnipeg, marking the club’s first championship in 12 years.
