Hamilton Tiger-Cats sign Hawaii standout De’Jon Benton, one other

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed American defensive lineman De’Jon Benton.

The six-foot-two, 270-pound defender played collegiately at the University of Hawaii in 2025, making 33 total tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss, 5.5 sacks, and one forced fumble over 12 starts.

The 25-year-old native of Pittsburgh, Calif. started his collegiate career at the University of South Carolina, where he made 32 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 1.5 sacks over 34 games.

Hamilton has also signed American receiver Kyrese Rowan.

The 25-year-old finished his collegiate career at Utah State, where he made 47 catches for 534 yards and three touchdowns over 13 games. He had a stint with the Denver Broncos as an undrafted free agent in 2025, though he didn’t make the team’s final roster.

The five-foot-ten, 175-pound target previously played at Utah, where he made four tackles on special teams over 17 games.
