The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have released six players as they return from their Week 13 bye, including American offensive lineman Jalen Burks, Canadian defensive lineman Nick Dheilly, Canadian kicker Gabriel Ferraro, American defensive back David Rivers, American linebacker Jontrell Rocquemore, Canadian receiver James Tyrrell.
Dheilly dressed for four games this season, recording one special teams tackle. The Regina native was a fifth-round pick in the 2020 CFL Draft out of the University of Saskatchewan.
Ferraro was added to the practice roster just last week on the same day that American placekicker Sergio Castillo was acquired via trade from B.C. The Guelph product dressed for five games with the Saskatchewan Roughriders in 2019, connecting on seven-of-nine field goal attempts.
Rivers dressed for one game this year in a depth role in the secondary. He has previously been a member of four NFL and two XFL teams, dressing for three games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Rocquemore started Winnipeg’s season-opening game at weak-side linebacker in place of an injured Kyrie Wilson. He dressed for a total of six games, making eight total tackles and one interception.
Tyrrell went undrafted out of Concordia University where he made 52 catches for 779 yards in his final season with the Stingers. He dressed for nine games this season as a depth national receiver behind Nic Demski and Drew Wolitarsky.
