The Calgary Stampedes have released receiver Marken Michel and defensive lineman James Vaughters to pursure NFL opportunities.

Michel has signed a futures contact with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Vaughters the same with the Chicago Bears.

Michel worked out for the Chicago Bears and Philadelphia Eagles in December.

Michel made 31 catches for 435 yards with five touchdowns in 2018. During Michel’s rookie CFL year n 2017, he caught 41 balls for 780 yards and three majors.

The 25-year-old went unselected in the 2016 NFL draft.

Vaughters worked out for the Chicago Bears in December. He had 24 tackles and five sacks last season with 26 tackles and six sacks during his first CFL campaign.
