The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian offensive lineman Zack Williams to a contract extension through 2028, the team announced on Wednesday. He was already under contract for 2026.

The 29-year-old was named All-West Division for the first time in his career in 2025. He started all 18 regular-season games for the Stampeders at left guard, helping running back Dedrick Mills win the CFL’s rushing title. Williams was Calgary’s nominee for the league’s Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman award.

“We want to continue to lock up our core players, and Zack is a big part of that group,” said head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson in a statement. “I’m excited to have him extended though 2028.”

The Winnipeg native was originally a third-round pick in the 2019 CFL Draft out of the University of Manitoba. Williams has since played 81 regular-season games and four playoff matchups with Calgary.

“I’m thankful and thrilled for the opportunity to extend with the Calgary Stampeders,” said Williams. “There’s a deep sense of pride and joy that comes with wearing this jersey and representing the White Horse. The love for the city, the team and my teammates is a blessing. Thank you to the entire organization and everyone who’s played a role in helping me reach this point.”

The Stampeders hold the sixth overall pick in the 2026 CFL Draft, which is scheduled for Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. EDT. All CFL training camps are scheduled to open on May 10. Calgary will play its first preseason game against the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Monday, May 18 and its first regular-season game against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Friday, June 5.

In 2025, Calgary finished third in the West Division standings with an 11-7 record but lost the West Semi-Final to the B.C. Lions.
