The Regina Food Bank was a busy place Sunday, as a crew of volunteers prepared 300 Christmas food hampers for their Hampers of Hope program, but amid the activity there was an unexpected streak of blue.

Regina mayor Sandra Master took the opportunity to make good on a friendly West Final wager with Winnipeg mayor Brian Bowman, sporting what appeared to be a brand new Winnipeg Blue Bombers jersey as she went about her charity work.

The Bombers held on to defeat Masters’ hometown Roughriders 21-17 in the West Division Final, booking themselves a ticket to the Grey Cup. They delivered on that opportunities, claiming their second straight Grey Cup title over the Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Despite the mayoral wager, Masters kept the Riders close to her heart, sporting a green and white mask and appearing to have a Riders jersey on underneath the Bombers one.

The Regina Food Bank later assured fans on Twitter that the Bombers blue was properly balanced out, as Riders’ great and Saskatchewan MLA Gene Makowsky was also in attendance.
