Charleston Rambo returned to the Montreal Alouettes on Tuesday after missing the team’s Week 2 win over the Ottawa Redblacks.
The 25-year-old native of Cedar Hill, Texas caught three passes for 36 yards in Montreal’s win over the Toronto Argonauts in Week 1. He was absent from the team in Week 2 to attend his own wedding, according to 3DownNation reporter Pablo Herrera-Vergara.
The six-foot-one, 185-pound target caught 61 passes for 808 yards and five touchdowns over 18 regular-season games as a rookie in 2024. He also started the East Final, making three catches for 32 yards in a losing effort.
Rambo played collegiately at the University of Oklahoma and the University of Miami, recording 155 catches for 2,352 yards and 16 touchdowns over 47 games. He was named second-team All-ACC with the Hurricanes in 2021.
According to Herrera-Vergara, the Alouettes are likely making a change at backup running back with Stevie Scott III replacing rookie Travis Theis behind Sean Thomas-Erlington.
Scott III spent almost all of last season on Montreal’s practice roster, dressing for one regular-season game but not recording any carries. The six-foot-two, 231-pound native of Syracuse, N.Y. was twice named second-team All-Big Ten while playing collegiately at Indiana University and went on to NFL stints with the New Orleans Saints, Denver Broncos, and Arizona Cardinals.
The Montreal Alouettes (2-0) will visit the Edmonton Elks (0-1) at Commonwealth Stadium on Thursday, June 19 with kickoff slated for 9:00 p.m. EDT.
