The Montreal Alouettes have signed American defensive back DeShawn Gaddie Jr. and American defensive lineman Praise Amaewhule.
Gaddie Jr. played four collegiate seasons at the University of North Texas where he made 61 total tackles, 13 pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles, and one fumble recovery in 2022, his final year with the team.
The six-foot-one, 190-pound defender transferred to Ole Miss in 2023 where he made nine total tackles and three pass knockdowns. He signed with the Carolina Panthers after going unselected in the 2024 NFL Draft but was waived after rookie camp.
Amaewhule spent six collegiate seasons at the University of Texas at El Paso where he made 145 total tackles, 38 tackles for loss, 22 sacks, 23 pass knockdowns, seven forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries over 62 games.
The six-foot-three, 250-pound native of Katy, Texas was a one-time first-team All-Conference selection and two-time second-team All-Conference selection.
