The Calgary Stampeders have signed American defensive lineman Miles Bown.

The six-foot-two, 320-pound defender made 13 starts with the Saskatchewan Roughriders last season, recording 13 defensive tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.

Brown was fined for a high hit on Zach Collaros during the Labour Day Classic, which knocked the veteran quarterback out of the game. He received a maximum fine the following week when he hit Chris Streveler low during the Banjo Bowl, causing him to suffer a torn ACL, MCL, and partially torn PCL.

The native of Cheverly, Md. has played 41 career CFL games with the Roughriders, making 56 defensive tackles, eight sacks, two fumble recoveries, and one forced fumble.

The 27-year-old was named first-team All-Southern Conference for three seasons at Wofford College.
