The B.C. Lions have signed American defensive back Jalon Edwards-Cooper to a one-year contract extension. He was a pending free agent.
The five-foot-eleven, 175-pound defender made 12 defensive tackles over four regular-season games in 2024, making four starts at field-side cornerback. He also started the West Semi-Final against the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
The 27-year-old native of Spring, Texas, played for B.C. from 2021 to 2023, making 79 defensive tackles, one special teams tackle, three interceptions, and one forced fumble over 30 regular-season games.
Edwards-Cooper signed with the Saskatchewan Roughriders this past offseason but was released at the conclusion of training camp.
Collegiately, Edwards-Cooper won an NCAA Division II National Championship at East Texas A&M Lions in 2017.
