The Calgary Stampeders have signed Canadian defensive lineman Kelon Thomas to a two-year contract extension. He was already under contract for 2025.

The six-foot-five, 249-pound defender has played 23 regular-season games over two seasons with the team, making three defensive tackles, 21 special teams tackles, and two pass knockdowns.

“We’re excited to have Kelon for two more years,” said head coach and general manager Dave Dickenson in a statement. “We’re looking forward to seeing him continue to develop into a larger role with the team.”

The 24-year-old native of Scarborough, Ont. previously played for the Okanagan Sun of the Canadian Junior Football League (CJFL). He was named the league’s Outstanding Defensive Lineman in 2022 after making 19.5 tackles, 11.5 sacks, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one blocked kick.
