The Bishop’s Gaiters have cracked the top five of the U Sports football rankings after improving to 6-0 this past weekend.
The team beat the St. FX X-Men by a score of 42-37 on Saturday after erasing an 11-point second-half deficit to force overtime. After exchanging touchdowns in the round of overtime, Bishop’s held St. FX to a rouge before O’Shae Ho-Sang sealed the game with a six-yard touchdown run. The victory clinched the AUS for the Gaiters for the first time since they moved to the conference in 2017.
The top four spots in the rankings remained unchanged from a week ago, while the Windsor Lancers fell from No. 5 to No. 6 following a 45-40 loss to the Guelph Gryphons.

The upset propelled Guelph from No. 10 to No. 8, while the UBC Thunderbirds jumped from No. 9 to No. 7 following their 35-25 win over the Alberta Golden Bears.
The Manitoba Bisons fell from No. 7 to No. 9 after suffering their first loss of the season, a 42-24 defeat at the hands of the Saskatchewan Huskies, while the Queen’s Gaels fell from No. 8 to No. 10 after getting crushed by the Laurier Golden Hawks 51-21.
