The CFL’s trade deadline has come and gone, expiring at 5:00 p.m. EDT on Wednesday.

Unlike the three previous years, there was one trade deadline deal made this season as the B.C. Lions acquired Canadian running back Jeshrun Antwi from the Montreal Alouettes in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft.

The trade was the league’s first deadline deal since veteran quarterback Zach Collaros was shipped from the Toronto Argonauts to the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 2019.

Toronto received a third-round pick and a conditional first-round pick in the 2020 CFL Draft as part of the deal, while the Blue Bombers got an additional fifth-round pick. The Argonauts used the selections on Canadian offensive linemen Theren Churchill and Dylan Giffen, respectively, while Winnipeg took Canadian kicker Marc Liegghio.

The CFL trade deadline is typically a non-event and wasn’t expected to be active this year given that all nine teams remain mathematically eligible for the postseason.
