Winnipeg Blue Bombers’ quarterback Zach Collaros has unsurprisingly been named the CFL’s top performer for Week 17 by Pro Football Focus (PFF) with a grade of 93.1.
The two-time CFL M.O.P. had a performance for the ages this past week, connecting on 21-of-26 pass attempts for 432 yards and six touchdowns to lead his team to a 55-27 win over the Edmonton Elks. It was the first six-touchdown performance of his career, his second-highest single-game passing yardage total, and earned the fifth-highest single-game score PFF has awarded all season.
Collaros has now thrown for 3,555 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 14 interceptions on the season, sitting second league-wide in passing yards and tied for fifth in passing touchdowns.
Saskatchewan Roughriders’ defensive back Rolan Milligan Jr. was the highest-graded defensive player of the week with a score of 87.0. The former NFL defender made three defensive tackles, one tackle for loss, one special teams tackle, and one interception in his team’s win over Ottawa. He now leads the league with seven interceptions on the year.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats had the highest-graded offensive line of the week, earning a score of 70.1. Right guard Coulter Woodmansey was the top individual performer at 70.1, followed by left guard Brandon Revenberg (67.3) and left tackle Brendan Bordner (64.1).
The CFL partnered with PFF for the first time ahead of the 2023 season. The American company uses game footage to review every player on the field and grades their individual performances on a scale from zero to 100.
The league unveils the top-graded players from PFF each week. Offensive and defensive players must play a minimum of 25 snaps to be eligible and special teams players must play at least 10. Ties are broken by the number of snaps played.
