The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have re-signed American defensive back Jamal Peters through the 2025 season.
The 27-year-old has started 12 games for the Ticats at boundary cornerback this season, recording 38 total tackles and four interceptions. He remains in his first year with the team after signing with Hamilton in free agency this past off-season.
The six-foot-two, 220-pound defender made 32 defensive tackles, four interceptions, and two forced fumbles over 13 games with the Toronto Argonauts in 2023 following a stint with the Atlanta Falcons. He first signed with the team in 2021, helping the team win a Grey Cup the following year.
The native of Bassfield, Miss. has made 155 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles, 15 interceptions, two forced fumbles, and one sack over 48 career CFL games.
Peters went unselected in the 2019 NFL Draft following a four-year collegiate career at Mississippi State University. He signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent but was released shortly after with an injury settlement.
The Tiger-Cats (5-9) will visit the B.C. Lions (7-7) on Friday, Sept. 27 with kickoff slated for 10:30 p.m. EDT.
