Hamilton Tiger-Cats’ defensive lineman Nick Usher has been named the CFL’s top performer for Week 15 by Pro Football Focus (PFF) with a grade of 90.7.
The six-year veteran played 51 snaps during Steeltown’s 37-21 win over the Ottawa Redblacks, recording one defensive tackle, one forced fumble, and two fumble recoveries. He dropped back 24 times and excelled, earning a score of 91.0 in pass coverage.
The 29-year-old native of Los Angeles, Calif. has made 28 defensive tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble over 13 games with the Tiger-Cats this season.
Toronto Argonauts’ quarterback Chad Kelly was the highest-graded offensive player of the week after he helped lead the Boatmen to a 33-17 win over the B.C. Lions. He completed 18-of-28 pass attempts for 268 yards and one touchdown and rushed 10 times for 56 yards and a major score in the victory.
Hamilton had the highest-graded offensive line of the week with a group score of 83.4. Left guard Brandon Revenberg was the highest-graded individual at 81.8, followed by centre David Beard (79.8) and right tackle Jordan Murray (76.6).
The CFL partnered with PFF for the first time ahead of the 2023 season. The American company uses game footage to review every player on the field and grades their individual performances on a scale from zero to 100.
The league unveils the top-graded players from PFF each week. Offensive and defensive players must play a minimum of 25 snaps to be eligible and special teams players must play at least 10. Ties are broken by the number of snaps played.
