The Canadian Football League was a big time hit on television in Week 12.
TSN’s English language broadcasts produced the networks largest average weekly ratings since Week 6 in 2019. While the Calgary Stampeders were on a bye week, every matchup in Week 12 drew over 500,000 average English viewers and two were well into 600,000 range.
Each game was decided by one score or less with the widest win margin coming by seven points as the Reblacks improved to 5-0-1 at home with a 34-27 victory against Canadian QB Nathan Rourke and the Lions. The Elks lost to the Alouettes 21-17, the Blue Bombers beat the Ticats 26-23, and the Argonauts edged out the Roughriders by a walk-off rouge.
The CFL averaged more viewers, French included, across the country than the Blue Jays games on Sportsnet. Canada’s only Major League Baseball team swept a four-game home series with the Los Angeles Angels: Thursday 533,500, Friday 697,100, Saturday 597,100, Sunday 556,300 for 596,000 average.
