The Montreal Alouettes can clinch a playoff spot this week despite being on a bye.
The defending Grey Cup champions are off to a 10-1 start and can already finish no lower than third in the East Division. If the Ottawa Redblacks defeat the B.C. Lions in Touchdown Pacific on Saturday, the Alouettes would be no longer vulnerable to a crossover spot, ensuring them a berth in the postseason.
Montreal can also clinch a playoff spot if the Redblacks and Lions tie and the Winnipeg Blue Bombers beat the Saskatchewan Roughriders on Sunday.
The Alouettes rank second league-wide in offensive points per game and net offence per game, first in offensive points allowed per game, and third in net offence allowed per game. The team is currently riding a five-game winning streak after knocking off the Edmonton Elks this past week at Percival Molson Stadium.
