The Canadian Football League Players’ Association (CFLPA) has appointed former offensive lineman Peter Dyakowski as their interim executive director. He will assume the role at the end of September following the departure of Brian Ramsay, who was recently hired by the Professional Hockey Players’ Association (PHPA).
“We are delighted to have Peter step into this important role,” said CFLPA president Solomon Elimimian in a statement. “His dedication to the betterment of our members, combined with his extensive experience and leadership qualities, make him the ideal person to lead the CFLPA at this important time. We are confident that the Association will continue to succeed under Peter’s leadership.”
Dyakowski played 11 seasons in the CFL as a member of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts, and Saskatchewan Roughriders and was named an East Division all-star in 2012. He also won an NCAA National Championship in 2003 at Louisiana State University.
The 40-year-old native of Vancouver, B.C. served as a CFLPA player representative from 2013 to 2015 and as the organization’s treasurer from 2016 to 2024.
“I am honored to take on this role and to have the opportunity to serve all CFLPA members in this capacity,” said Dyakowski. “The CFLPA has a long history of advocating for it’s players’ rights and I am committed to ensuring that we build on that legacy.”
The CFLPA will conduct a search for a permanent executive director in the coming months.
