The Calgary Stampeders will have no insurance in the backfield for their rematch with the Toronto Argonauts on Friday.

For the second straight week, the team is expected to dress Peyton Logan as the only running back on the roster, leaving them vulnerable in the event of injury. However, this week fullback Lucas Robertson has been demoted to the practice squad as well, meaning there will not be a single additional backfield player available for insurance.

Should Logan, who has rushed for 121 yards on 18 carries this year, go down, the Stampeders would be expected to turn to Canadian receiver Jalen Philpot. The former Calgary Dino has seen occasional usage out of the backfield and carried 20 times for 173 yards in 22 career CFL games.

Replacing Robertson on jumbo packages will be seventh offensive lineman Kyle Saxelid, who is dressing for the first time this year. In other roster moves, the team has swapped Canadian defensive back Nick Statz in, sending his rookie counterpart Kaylyn St-Cyr to the practice roster.

Canadian defensive back and 2024 first-round pick Ben Labrosse will be a healthy scratch this week after recovering from an ankle issue. He will join a trio of Americans in defensive tackle Charles Wiley, offensive tackle Josh Coker, and receiver Tre Odoms-Dukes as available players on the one-game injured list.

The Calgary Stampeders (4-4) will visit the Toronto Argonauts (4-4) on Friday, August 9 at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
