The B.C. Lions are heading back to Kamloops for training camp for the next two years.

“Our entire organization is honoured to be heading back to Kamloops for a 15th straight training camp and beyond,” said co-general manager and director of football operations Neil McEvoy in a statement. “Hillside Stadium provides us with the best amenities and prettiest backdrop in all of three down football and the experience is also enhanced by the outstanding people welcoming us with exceptional hospitality every May.”

Hillside Stadium was opened in 2006 and plays host to the Thompson Rivers WolfPack, the Canadian Junior Football League’s Kamloops Broncos, the Pacific Coast Soccer League’s Kamloops Excel, and Rivers FC of League1 British Columbia.

Kamloops is home to approximately 110,000 residents and is located 350 kilometres northeast of Vancouver. The team’s new deal runs through 2026 with an option for 2027.

“The city of Kamloops is thrilled to have the B.C. Lions’ training camp return to Hillside Stadium. Not only does this partnership speak to the calibre of our facilities, amenities, and staff, but gives our city the opportunity to connect with B.C.’s premiere football club through programs, engagement events, and the ever-popular FanFest,” said Kamloops cultural services and events manager Dušan Magdolen.

The B.C. Lions (5-3) will visit the Edmonton Elks (1-7) on Sunday, Aug. 11 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
