The Hamilton Tiger-Cats will be largely healthy and coming off their second straight victory when they meet the Montreal Alouettes in Week 9.
The Tabbies have made no changes to their lineup after blowing the doors off the Edmonton Elks last week, absorbing no new injuries. The only significant alteration comes on the injured list, where Canadian safety Stavros Katsantonis (leg) has officially been upgraded to the six-game after missing the last two weeks on the one-game.
The UBC product had made 17 tackles in five appearances this season. Canadian rookie Robert Panabaker will make his third career start in relief, having amassed 12 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble so far this year.
Hamilton’s lack of roster alterations will come despite the new-found availability of one key player. Veteran left tackle Joel Figueroa (shoulder) practiced fully this week and was eligible to return after starting the year on the six-game injured list, but will stay on the one-game for at least another week with rookie Brendan Bordner holding firm in his spot.
Rookie Canadian defensive end Luke Brubacher (hamstring) will also stick on the one-game despite being eligible to return, joining running back Greg Bell, linebacker Ray Wilborn, and receiver Dezmon Patmon as healthy scratches. The Ticats have eight players on the six-game injured list, with Katsantonis and Canadian receiver Brendan O’Leary-Orange being the only starters.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (2-5) will host the Montreal Alouettes (6-1) on Friday, August 2 at 7:30 p.m. EDT.
