The Calgary Stampeders have signed former NFL draft pick Kylin Hill.

The five-foot-ten, 214-pound running back was selected in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft by the Green Bay Packer and played eight games as rookie before suffering a season-ending knee injury. He played two games late the following year following his recovery but was waived over an apparent playtime dispute. In total, recorded 11 carries for 31 yards and one reception for five yards during his NFL career.

Hill was signed by the XFL’s Orlando Guardians earlier this off-season, though he was released when the team folded amid the USFL-XFL merger. He attended training camp with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2024 and spent a month on the team’s practice roster, though he was released in early July.

The native of Columbus, Miss. played four seasons at Mississippi State University, recording 452 carries for 2,535 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also caught 67 passes for 631 yards and six scores.

Hill was named first-team All-SEC in 2019 after rushing for 1,350 yards and 10 touchdowns and made headlines around the world after threatening to leave the school if Mississippi did not remove the Confederate flag from their state flag.

The Calgary Stampeders (3-4) will host the Toronto Argonauts (4-3) on Sunday, Aug. 4 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
