Former CFL quarterback Isaac Harker earned some hardware over the weekend after leading his Arena Football League team to a championship.

The 28-year-old native of Lebanon, Ind. completed 16-of-27 pass attempts for 184 yards and five touchdowns, helping the Billings Outlaws to a 46-41 win over the Albany Firebirds. Harker was named the Most Valuable Player of ArenaBowl XXXIII for his performance in the league’s first championship game since reforming in 2024 following its bankruptcy in 2019.

The game was played at the ice rink in the American Dream Centre, a shopping mall and entertainment complex in East Rutherford, N.J. The Outlaws are based out of Billings, Mont. and joined the Arena Football League this season following a two-year stint in the now-defunct Champions Indoor Football.

The six-foot, 195-pound passer spent two seasons as the backup to Cody Fajardo in Saskatchewan, throwing for 706 yards and five interceptions in limited game action, while also rushing five times for 19 yards. He signed with the B.C. Lions as a free agent in 2022 but was released before the start of the regular season.

Harker spent most of his collegiate career at Indiana State University before transferring to the Colorado School of Mines for his senior season. He completed 65.5 percent of his passes with the Orediggers that year for 3,858 yards, 39 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions along with 61 carries for 142 yards and three majors.
