The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have claimed Canadian defensive lineman Deionte Knight off the practice roster from the Toronto Argonauts, 3DownNation has confirmed.
The 25-year-old native of Ajax, Ont. dressed for two games in a depth role with the Argonauts this season but didn’t register any statistics. He was moved down to the practice roster earlier this week.
The six-foot-three, 290-pound defender was selected with the tenth overall pick in the 2022 CFL Draft out of Western University. He played 23 games with Toronto, making one start and recording 19 defensive tackles, two sacks, and one forced fumble.
In a corresponding move, the Tiger-Cats released Canadian linebacker Enoch Penney-Laryea.
The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-4) will host the B.C. Lions (3-1) on Sunday, July 7 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT.
