Toronto Argonauts’ defensive back Jonathan Edouard has been named the CFL’s top performer for Week 4 by Pro Football Focus (PFF).

The five-foot-eleven, 180-pound defender played 26 total snaps, recording one tackle, one interception, and one pass knockdown to earn a grade of 90.2 in his team’s 30-20 loss to the Montreal Alouettes.

The 28-year-old native of Orlando, Fla. qualified for National status after completing his collegiate career at Carleton University and joined the Argonauts as an undrafted free agent in 2022. He has made seven defensive tackles, 12 special teams tackles, one sack, and one interception over 21 career CFL games.

The highest-graded offensive performer was B.C. Lions’ quarterback Vernon Adams Jr. at 89.5. The veteran passer completed 27-of-38 pass attempts for 331 yards and one touchdown in his team’s 24-21 victory over the Edmonton Elks, his third straight 300-yard game. He also carried the ball six times for 33 yards.

The Elks had the highest-graded offensive line this past week, earning a group grade of 66.4. The highest individual performer was right tackle Brett Boyko at 67.8, followed by left tackle Martez Ivey (66.8) and left guard David Foucault (65.4).

The CFL partnered with PFF for the first time ahead of the 2023 season. The American company uses game footage to review every player on the field and grades their individual performances on a scale from zero to 100.

The league unveils the top-graded players from PFF each week. Offensive and defensive players must play a minimum of 25 snaps to be eligible and special teams players must play at least 10. Ties are broken by the number of snaps played.
