Edmonton Elks’ quarterback McLeod Bethel-Thompson has been named the CFL’s top performer for Week 3 by Pro Football Focus (PFF).

The two-time East Division all-star completed 28-of-38 pass attempts for 342 yards and four touchdowns in his team’s 39-36 loss to the Toronto Argonauts, earning a grade of 93.0. He completed three passes of 30 or more yards and tied his existing career-high in touchdown passes from 2018.

Montreal Alouettes’ linebacker Tyrice Beverette was the highest-graded defensive player of the week at 90.2. The six-foot, 203-pound native of Lakewood, N.J. played 51 defensive snaps and made six tackles, one tackle for a loss, one sack, one forced fumble, and one fumble recovery as his team dominated the Ottawa Redblacks.

The Argonauts had the highest-graded offensive line of the week at 76.3. The highest individual grade was given to right tackle Dejon Allen, who is the CFL’s reigning Most Outstanding Offensive Lineman, at 90.8.

The CFL partnered with PFF for the first time ahead of the 2023 season. The American company uses game footage to review every player on the field and grades their individual performances on a scale from zero to 100.

The league unveils the top-graded players from PFF each week. Offensive and defensive players must play a minimum of 25 snaps to be eligible and special teams players must play at least 10. Ties are broken by the number of snaps played.
