The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have listed Brady Oliveira and Deatrick Nichols as questionable for Thursday’s game against the B.C. Lions.
Oliveira missed last week’s game against the Ottawa Redblacks and didn’t participate in practice this week due to a knee injury. The CFL’s reigning Most Outstanding Canadian carried the ball 11 times for 38 yards and caught three passes for 17 yards in Winnipeg’s season-opening loss to the Montreal Alouettes, though he didn’t finish the game.
Nichols suffered a shoulder injury partway through last week’s loss and was replaced at boundary halfback by rookie Marquise Bridges. The five-foot-nine, 180-pound native of Miami, Fla. has recorded two tackles this season.
Star receiver Dalton Schoen returned to practice midweek after missing Monday’s session due to a hip injury and is expected to be in the starting lineup. He has caught nine passes for 105 yards through two games to start the year.
Weak-side linebacker Kyrie Wilson, who has made six tackles this season, has also been listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.
The B.C. Lions have ruled out Canadian slotback Jevon Cottoy due to a hamstring injury.
The Winnipeg Blue Bombers (0-2) will host the B.C. Lions (1-1) on Friday, June 21 with kickoff slated for 8:30 p.m. EDT.
