The NHL’s championship series went head-to-head with the Blue Bombers and Redblacks game on Thursday night and the Stampeders and Lions game Saturday evening. The Oilers’ 4-3 loss in Game 3 produced 2,806,600 average viewers across Sportsnet and CBC, while Edmonton’s 8-1 win in Game 4 brought in 3,683,200 as superstar Connor McDavid scored one goal and recorded three assists.
The Alouettes and Elks kicking off at 9:00 p.m. EDT on Friday helped avoid most of the Blue Jays game, which drew 600,100 on Sportsnet. Canada’s Major League Baseball team had 527,300 watching on Saturday and 617,400 on Sunday.
The Dallas Mavericks’ Game 4 win over the Boston Celtics in the NBA Finals netted 243,200 onlookers on Friday night. The 2024 European Championship on TSN produced 565,400 for Italy’s 2-1 win on Saturday and 711,400 for England’s 1-0 win on Sunday.
Year-over-year the CFL’s ratings dropped over 12 percent when compared to the same week last season.
