The Hamilton Tiger-Cats have signed Canadian defensive lineman Benoit Marion.

The 28-year-old was released by the Toronto Argonauts on Tuesday after dressing for the team’s first game of the season in a depth role, recording one special teams tackle.

The six-foot-five, 250-pound defender made one defensive tackle, nine special teams tackles, two forced fumbles, and one sack over 16 games with Toronto this past season, serving in a depth role.

The native of Montreal was a third-round pick of the Alouettes in the 2020 CFL Draft but was released before his rookie season got underway. He joined the Argonauts as a free agent shortly thereafter and has made seven defensive tackles, 12 special teams tackles, one sack, and two forced fumbles over 32 career CFL games.

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-1) will host the Saskatchewan Roughriders (1-0) at Tim Hortons Field on Sunday, June 16 with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. EDT
