The Ottawa Redblacks have named six team captains for the 2024 season, including quarterback Dru Brown, receiver Dominique Rhymes, linebacker Jovan Santos Knox, strong-side linebacker Adarius Pickett, kicker Lewis Ward, and punter Richie Leone.

“Dru, Dom, Jovan, Adarius, Lewis, and Richie embody both the on-field and off-field qualities that we look for from members of our football club,” said head coach Bob Dyce in a statement. “We are excited for them to lead us into the 2024 season as our captains.”

Brown, Rhymes, and Pickett are new to the team this year and are expected to be in the starting lineup for the club’s upcoming season-opener. All six selections were made following a vote from the team’s players.

Veteran defensive back Brandin Dandridge has missed two straight practices due to a knee injury, while Jeremiah was a limited participant on Monday as he continues to work back from the Achilles injury he suffered last year. He is also working his way back from illness.

The Ottawa Redblacks (0-0) will host the Winnipeg Blue Bombers (0-1) at TD Place Stadium on Thursday, June 13 with kickoff slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT.
