Reggie Begelton, Jake Maier, Mike Rose, and Rene Paredes, who share a combined 27 seasons of experience with the team, were chosen as captains through a player vote. This marks the 10th time Paredes will serve as Calgary’s special teams captain.

Begelton was named a CFL all-star in 2023 after catching 86 passes for 1,119 yards and five touchdowns in 15 games. He led the team in all receiving categories while finishing second league-wide in catches and sixth league-wide in receiving yards. He led the team to a third-place finish in the West Division at 6-12, though the Stampeders were eliminated from the playoffs following a 41-30 loss to the B.C. Lions in the West Semi-Final.

Rose has made 129 total tackles, 30 sacks, three forced fumbles, and one interception over six seasons in Calgary. The 31-year-old native of Fountain Inn, S.C. set an all-new career-high with 11 sacks in 2023 and was named a CFL all-star for the third straight year.

The 39-year-old product of Concordia University is a five-time CFL all-star who sits ninth in league history with 2,129 career regular season points. The two-time Grey Cup champion was named the league’s Most Outstanding Special Teams Player in 2013.
