Stampeders release veteran defensive backs Titus Wall, Brad Muhammad during final cuts

The Calgary Stampeders have released 22 players ahead of the CFL’s roster cutdown deadline, including veteran defensive backs Titus Wall and Brad Muhammad.

Wall has played 21 games over the last two seasons with the Stampeders, recording 94 defensive tackles, 10 special teams tackles, eight tackles for loss, four sacks, three forced fumbles, three interceptions, one fumble recovery, and three pass knockdowns. He’s also scored two touchdowns.

The native of Lima, Ohio started 11 games at strong-side linebacker in 2023 before suffering a season-ending shoulder injury in the Labour Day Classic. He made 55 defensive tackles, seven special teams tackles, five tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, and two pass knockdowns.

Muhammad played eight games as a member of the Stampeders in 2023, making six starts at field-side halfback. He recorded 20 defensive tackles, three special teams tackles, one tackle for loss, and one interception.

The 28-year-old native of St. Petersburg, Fla. started his CFL career with the Ottawa Redblacks in 2021 prior to signing with Calgary the following year. He has made 84 defensive tackles, eight special teams tackles, four tackles for loss, 11 pass knockdowns, three interceptions, and one forced fumble over 29 career CFL games.

The Stampeders will open their regular season on Friday, June 7 when they host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats at 9:00 p.m. ET.
