Redblacks release 20, including 2024 fourth-round pick Jahquan Bloomfield

The Ottawa Redblacks have released 20 players ahead of the CFL’s roster cutdown deadline, including fourth-round draft pick Jahquan Bloomfield.

The native of Châteauguay, Que. was taken with the 35th overall pick in the 2024 CFL Draft and was expected to compete for a depth role as a national receiver. He split his collegiate career between the University of Louisiana at Monroe and Prairie View A&M University, catching 33 passes for 665 yards and three touchdowns.

Other recent draft picks to be released included 2023 fifth-round receiver Daniel Perry and seventh-round defensive end Alexander Fedchun. The remaining 17 players released can be seen below.
