The Calgary Stampeders are expected to field their entire projected starting lineup when they open the preseason at McMahon Stadium on Saturday.
The game will mark the return to the lineup for all-star receiver Malik Henry, who posted 14 receptions for 228 yards and a touchdown in three games last season before going down with a ruptured Achilles. The 27-year-old had a breakout campaign in 2022, making 62 receptions for 1,023 yards and eight touchdowns over 13 games.
Defensively, the contest will serve as the Stampeders’ debut for a pair of prominent defensive back additions. Prized free agent acquisition Demerio Houston, who led the CFL in interceptions last season with the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, will start for the first time at boundary cornerback. Rodney Randle Jr., who joined the club in December after a stint in the NFL, will get a look at field halfback.
The Stampeders will host the B.C. Lions at 4:00 p.m. ET on June 25. The game will be available to stream for free on CFL+.
