The Montreal Alouettes have released 10 American players, including running backs Charles McClelland and Marcus Williams, receivers Malachi Carter and Ferlando Jordan, defensive linemen Trey Botts, Jerron Cage, and Jordan Wright, linebacker Troy Brown, and defensive backs Dishon McNary and Kordell Rodgers.
Rodgers dressed for 12 games with the team this past season, making nine starts at boundary cornerback and two starts at field-side cornerback. He recorded 37 defensive tackles and two interceptions.
The five-foot-eleven, 175-pound native of Lufkin, Texas played collegiately at Texas State University before entering the professional ranks in 2023. He recorded 158 total tackles, four tackles for loss, seven interceptions, 17 pass knockdowns, two forced fumbles, one fumble recovery, and one sack over 48 collegiate games with the Bobcats.
The Alouettes have also suspended American defensive backs Matt Severance and Linden Stephens.
CFL teams were required to shorten their rosters to 75 players plus non-counters as of Wednesday morning.
