The Canadian Football League’s entire preseason slate will be available to viewers across Canada and abroad for a second straight year, with a couple of big upgrades.
On Thursday, the league confirmed that its free streaming platform, CFL+, would once again carry every preseason game not broadcast on TSN. The service, which launched in 2023 to the delight of fans, can be subscribed to at no cost with the provision of an email address.
Just like last year, each streaming-only broadcast will feature in-stadium video feeds with local radio crews providing play-by-play and analysis. However, the league is rolling out full DVR functionality for all streams this season, allowing 48 hours of on-demand access to fans unable to watch the game live. The platform has also been upgraded for compatibility with Apple AirPlay to facilitate casting onto smart TVs more easily.
Fans in Canada will be unable to utilize the platform for the two contests on Friday, May 31 that will be carried live by TSN. Those viewing games internationally will face no such restrictions until the regular season, when U.S. fans will be unable to see games broadcast on CBS Sports Network. All other contests, such as playoffs and the Grey Cup, and league events like the Canadian Football Hall of Fame induction and the CFL Awards, can be witnessed on the platform.
The 2024 preseason gets underway on Monday, May 20 when the Winnipeg Blue Bombers visit the Saskatchewan Roughriders at 4:00 p.m. ET. The full schedule can be found below.
