Montreal Alouettes sign five from CFL draft class, including third-round pick Arthur Hamlin

The Montreal Alouettes have signed five players they selected in the 2024 CFL Draft, including receivers Frédérik Antoine and Mohsen Jamal, defensive lineman Micah Roane, and defensive backs Arthur Hamlin and Vincent Delisle.

Antoine, the team’s fifth-round selection, caught 29 passes for 330 yards and three touchdowns over 13 games at Université Laval, helping the Rouge et Or win the Vanier Cup in 2022. The six-foot-one, 217-pound native of Quebec City, Que. originally started his collegiate career at Old Dominion University.

Jamal had a breakout seasons at Western University this past season, catching 49 passes for 770 yards and five touchdowns over 11 games. The five-foot-ten, 181-pound native of London, Ont. was selected in the seventh round of the draft.

Roane, the club’s fourth-round pick, made 94 tackles, 7.5 sacks, three pass knockdowns, and two forced fumbles over 40 collegiate games at the University of South Dakota. The native of Chaska, Minn. qualified for Canadian citizenship through his mother, Kimberly, who was born in Moose Jaw, Sask.

Hamlin played five seasons at Colgate University, recording 34 tackles, one interception, and five pass knockdowns. The five-foot-eleven, 186-pound native of Ottawa, Ont. was Montreal’s third-round pick.

Delisle made 39 tackles, five pass knockdowns, and one interception over 31 career games at Université Laval. The six-foot-two, 190-pound native of Quebec City, Que. was taken in the eighth round with the final pick in the 2024 CFL Draft.

The Alouettes will open the 2024 season on June 6 when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Princess Auto Stadium for a Grey Cup rematch.
