The Montreal Alouettes have signed American receiver Preston Williams to their training camp roster.

The six-foot-five, 220-pound target is a veteran of 25 NFL games, having spent three seasons with the Miami Dolphins and another with the Carolina Panthers. He caught 56 passes for 787 yards and seven touchdowns during his time in the league, including a career-high 428 yards as a rookie in 2019.

Signed as an undrafted free agent, Williams was a first-team All-Mountain West receiver in his lone season at Colorado State University, leading the conference with 96 receptions for 1,345 yards and 14 touchdowns. He transferred from the University of Tennessee in 2017, having caught 16 passes for 247 yards and two touchdowns with that program.

The 27-year-old most recently spent time with the DC Defenders in the United Football League but was released in March without playing a game.

The Alouettes will open the 2024 season on June 6 when they visit the Winnipeg Blue Bombers at Princess Auto Stadium for a Grey Cup rematch. The team is slated to open rookie camp on May 8.
