The Edmonton Elks have traded Canadian long snapper Peter Adjey to the Ottawa Redblacks in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2025 CFL Draft.
Adjey was selected in the third round of the 2022 CFL Draft out of Queen’s University. He dressed for 36 regular season games with Edmonton, recording five special teams tackles and one fumble recovery.
The six-foot-three, 230-pounder is expected to serve as Ottawa’s new full-time long snapper as Tanner Doll wasn’t retained following the 2023 season.
The Elks drafted Luke Burton-Krahn out of the University of British Columbia last year, who is capable of long snapping in addition to playing defensive end. The club also selected fullback Bradley Hladik out of the University of British Columbia in the second round of the 2024 CFL Draft, who is also a long snapper.
The Redblacks have a bye during the first week of the 2024 regular season before hosting the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on Thursday, June 13 at TD Place Stadium, while Edmonton will open its 2024 regular season by hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 8.
