The Saskatchewan Roughriders have released American defensive lineman Brayden Thomas.

The six-foot-three, 255-pound pass rusher was signed by the team last September, appearing in one game without recording a statistic. He previously spent the 2022 season with the Los Angeles Rams as an undrafted free agent, also making the active roster for one game as a rookie.

Thomas played two collegiate seasons at North Dakota State and made 55 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks, one pass knockdown, and one blocked field goal over 22 games. He was named first-team All-MVFC as a senior and helped the Bison capture the National Championship at the NCAA Division I FCS level.

The Riders will open their 2024 regular season on Saturday, June 8 when they visit the Edmonton Elks at Commonwealth Stadium.
