The Edmonton Elks have brought back Canadian offensive lineman Spencer Masterson.

The six-foot-five, 300-pound blocker was a sixth-round pick in the 2023 CFL Draft out of the University of Guelph but suffered a season-ending injury during the preseason against the Calgary Stampeders.

The native of Richmond Hill, Ont. was a second-team OUA all-star with the Gryphons in 2021 and played another seven games with the team the following year.

The Elks have also signed American linebacker Aubrey Miller Jr. following a stint with the Miami Dolphins.

The six-foot-two, 225-pound defender signed with Miami after going unselected in the 2023 NFL Draft. He recorded two tackles during the preseason but was released at the conclusion of training camp.

The native of Memphis, Tenn. played 26 collegiate games at Jackson State University and made 117 tackles, 23.5 tackles for loss, 8.5 sacks, and six forced fumbles. He was named a first-team FCS All-American as a senior by Athlon Sports.

The Elks will open their 2024 regular season by hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 8.
