The Toronto Argonauts are returning to the University of Guelph for training camp in 2024 and will host the Hamilton Tiger-Cats on campus for their preseason game on May 31.

“This will be our fourth straight year at Guelph, and it truly feels like home,” said head coach Ryan Dinwiddie in a statement. “Everything from the facilities to the accommodations to the food and the way we are treated is top notch. The University of Guelph gives us every advantage to come together as a team and we are excited to get going.”

The Argonauts have held training camp in Guelph every season since 2021, in 2016, and several times during the 1980s and 1990s. The club has played all of its home preseason games at Alumni Stadium in Guelph since 2018.

Toronto will begin a three-day rookie camp on May 8 with the roster being cut to 85 players following its conclusion. Veterans will then report ahead of training camp getting underway on May 12. Practices will be open to the public, though the club has indicated some might be closed with at least one day of advance notice.

The Argonauts will play their first preseason game at Percival Molson Stadium against the Grey Cup champion Montreal Alouettes on May 25 before hosting the Ticats the following week.

Franchise quarterback Chad Kelly is the subject of an ongoing lawsuit, which prompted the CFL to launch an investigation regarding allegations of sexual harassment. It remains unclear when the league’s investigation will reach its end, though the club has indicated they are planning as though Kelly will be their starting quarterback in 2024.

Toronto will open their 2024 regular season on Sunday, June 9 when they host the B.C. Lions at BMO Field.
