The Edmonton Elks have signed American defensive back KiShawn Walker.

The six-foot-two, 190-pound defender has spent the past two seasons in the Indoor Football League (IFL) where he was named to the IFL All-Rookie Team in 2023 as a member of the Northern Arizona Wranglers. He tied for the league lead in interceptions with eight and made 53.5 total tackles, two tackles for loss, nine pass knockdowns, and one forced fumble in 17 games.

The 25-year-old native of Owensboro, Ky. attended rookie minicamp with the Houston Texans after going unselected in the 2022 NFL Draft. He has also been a member of the XFL’s St. Louis Battlehawks.

Walker finished his collegiate career at Kentucky Wesleyan College where he was named first-team All-Conference. He previously played at Georgetown College and Western Kentucky.

The Elks will open their 2024 regular season by hosting the Saskatchewan Roughriders at Commonwealth Stadium on Saturday, June 8.
